Belltrees cricket Team through to the finals

Ed White drove up from Sydney Friday night, jumped on the mower and trimmed the Belltrees cricket pitch for the following days play between Belltrees and Scone. His efforts were rewarded as he and Brad McCosker put on an opening partnership of 150 runs to set up victory for the local side.

Phoebe wins at Scone Horses Trials One Day Event

Scone Horses Trials hosted close to 470 entries at the annual Autumn One Day Event last weekend; now the largest ODE in NSW outside of Sydney. The countryside looked amazing as a result of recent rain and the weather over the two days was sunny, dry and warm. That set the stage perfectly for Phoebe White and Maverick (brown gelding trained by Serena) to take out the Preliminary section by only .2 margin from another local Michelle Carney.

In the top grades; an amazing result by Olympian Shane Rose; who secured victory in each CNC 1 , 2 and 3 STAR classes. An incredible athlete and strong rider; the trifecta should set up Shane for an spot in the Australian team this coming London Olympics. Well done all those helpers that made the day so spectacular.

Pink Stumps Day at Belltrees results

Rouchel by 10 runs over Belltrees BUT Jane McGrath and the PINK Stumps Cancer Foundation outright winners. A tight finish and a great "community" day out with 200 locals in attendance raising over $22,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation. 50 local sponsores donated items for the auction. Outstanding!

The BCG was presented in top condition due to the work done by curator, Jason Robinson from Ellerston, who added the finishing touches to the out field only hours before play. Unfortunately he managed only 1 over out in the middle with the bat to enjoy his hard work before his Belltrees team was bowled all out.

Maurice Collison (MC) and hard working secretary Katrina McCosker along with their committee/ "team" presented a wonderful day. Well done.

Old team members mixed with new and the kids played junior cricket behind the bar. Judy White unearthed a piece of history gold.; a trophy cricket ball from 1897 presented to Alfred Ebsworth (Belltrees) after scoring 139 runs against Rouchel on the same day 114 years ago.

Polo in the Park - Sydney

Jasper gets a crack at the social life at Centennial Park Sydney by entertaining the crowd to a fun polo day.

To kick start the entertainment, Vodaphone gave the boys (dressed in their polo clobber), a new mobile phone to hold at one end of the polo pitch whilst the orders were given for 120 girls to marshall at the other end. The gun sounded and the girls charged; unsure which was the better attraction; the phones or the boys . What chance did they have??

The crowd was noisey and encouraging. The Champagne flowed and so did the polo.

Hunter River snags Toyota

Whoops. Soft river bed claims another victim after months of good rain and strong river flows.
